FinTrU welcomes Porto City Mayor Rui Moreira to Porto office
We were delighted to welcome Porto City Mayor Rui Moreira to our Porto office earlier this month. The visit was the perfect chance to highlight our achievements since setting up in the city and the opportunities that this unique location offers the company. We also discussed future projects and the city's commitment to support FDI.
After a tour of our state-of-the-art facilities, Mayor Moreira got to meet the 25 graduates from our most recent FinTrU Porto Academy – a recruitment programme where recent graduates are trained to develop the necessary technical and professional skills for a successful career in financial services.
During the day we shared some of our recent achievements, including successful project completions, awards, and recognitions. We also highligted how we were on track for our ambitious goal of reaching 500 qualified jobs by 2028 – FinTrU currently has 240 employees at the Porto site.
Telmo Fernandes, FinTrU Porto Site Lead, said: “The exceptional talent available in the market, combined with a high quality of education, has enabled us to establish a delivery centre that serves customers around the globe. This is a testament to the skills and dedication of our team, and it plays a crucial role in our mission to deliver outstanding services to our international clients”.
Currently on secondment from FinTrU's Belfast office, Rosalynd Smith, FinTrU Managing Director, added: “When we were choosing the ideal location to expand our operations, the warm hospitality and welcoming nature of Porto stood out."
During the visit, the Mayor emphasised the importance of supporting local businesses and attracting new investments to the city. The municipality's commitment to creating a favourable business environment is crucial for the growth and prosperity of the region. By supporting companies like FinTrU, the city is not only fostering economic development but also creating job opportunities and enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
