Earlier this month, our FinTrU Porto office had the pleasure of opening its doors to the Secretary of State for the Economy, Dr. João Rui Ferreira, and his deputy, Dr. Marco Malaquias.
The first site visit from the Secretary and his deputy highlighted the significant journey that FinTrU Porto has been on since opening in the region just over two years ago and serves as a testament to the significant role it plays in contributing to the city's economy.
During their visit, our guests were given a tour of the facilities, including our spaces for relaxation and recreation. Amenities such as our book station, cafeteria, table tennis, and pool table have been created to help our employees unwind and recharge, fostering a healthy work-life balance and promoting overall wellbeing.
We also held several sessions which allowed our guests to hear directly from the individuals who are at the forefront of our projects, gaining insights into their experiences and contributions. Dr. Ferreira and Dr. Malaquias also met with FinTrU senior management to learn more about our strategic vision, long-term goals, and the leadership driving our company's success. Our senior management team shared their insights on the company's growth trajectory and the initiatives that are shaping our future.
Economic impact and job creation
One of the key points of discussion was the importance of FinTrU in the creation of new job vacancies. We proudly shared not only how FinTrU growth has led to the creation of numerous jobs in the city, especially for fresh graduates, but also the retention rate of these hirings. Our commitment to job creation and economic development was well-received, highlighting our role as a vital contributor to the city's growth.
Commenting on the visit, FinTrU Porto Site Lead Telmo Fernandes said: “Portugal is home to exceptional talent, both in quality and quantity. The remarkable growth of FinTrU within Portugal is due to our ability to generate revenue, and our unique position as more than just a shared service centre. The quality of our Academies proves our commitment to attracting the best talent from the top universities in the North.”
